4th of july on a budget

Today's Blog is in honor of our men and women fighting for our freedom. In today's society it is a mixture of pro's and con's but the bottom line is, without these brave men and women we would not have the freedom to have pro's and con's. I dont agree with everything but I do about the most important ones. That is why I am doing what I can to help our service men and women since they are working so hard to protect our freedom's. Avon is collecting donations at $10 a person so they can send our soldiers a care package of basic needs. The more people that sign up the more packages go to soldiers in need. They are far away from home and away from all the needs we take for granted everyday. I have also added some tips on how to have a fun fourth with little to no money. With today's economy everything is tight but you can still have fun and save money too.


1. Enjoy a fireworks display: Most cities have free firework displays for the 4th of July. Find out when and where your local display will be held and then join in the great fun. Remember to show up early so your family can get a great spot.
2. Have a barbecue: What better way to enjoy this wonderful day than with great food and great friends? Invite your friends, family or neighbors over for a 4th of July barbecue. You can have every attending bring a side dish which makes it more affordable for everyone attending.
3. Enjoy a family picnic: Why not take your children and spouse to the park or the lake and enjoy a great family picnic. Pack some sandwiches and juice and enjoy a day spending quality time together.
4. Family Fun Day: Take this time to enjoy games and activities with your children and be thankful for the time you have to spend together.
5. Visit friends: Plan time with your friends. You may get together and watch a fireworks display, hang out and watch 4th of July specials on TV or just reminisce and enjoy time together.
There is no right or wrong way to spend the 4th of July. Just remember to be safe, especially if you are out on the road during this holiday season. Whatever you do this 4th of July, take time to commemorate this special day and remember why it is so important to our country. Have fun!

Summer Starts

Ok today is a new day and I will try everything in my power to keep it up beat and going.

This is how I am going to treat every day from now on. With 2 young kids in the house looking up to me for guidance and fun I need to be in the best shape mentally that I can be. I have made a list of things to do around the Tulsa,ok area that are either free or cheap to help with those slow days so you the parent do not go crazy from the little ones wanting something to do. Everyday I am going to try to post new ideas for the kids this summer. If you have an idea that I have missed please comment and I will add it to the site. I am even going to have polls and contest for great gifts coming up soon. So here is some of the ideas I had to start this summer off right.
